Tall Order - Thames two storey villa transformed!

A century's worth of paint to prepare, to repaint this two storey villa ready for a new chapter and many more years.

This was a classic Edwardian villa in Totara, Thames - set on high pilings with two storeys, several balconies and enough gabled dormers to make it an interesting challenge for the scaffolding team. We eventually went with four scaffolding platforms in some areas and three in others.

The paint surfaces needed weeks of preparation work, there being over a century’s worth of paint layers, many of which had either flaked, blistered or formed the dreaded ‘crocodile skin’ wrinkles at some point in the distant past.

There were also four large multi-paned French windows and a lot of the aforementioned dormers to contend with.

So, it was something of a tall order to finally get everything into a condition fit for painting.

Here is this beautiful villa before and after with its new blue/grey exterior paint...

Our clients went with a modern blue/grey for the weatherboards and a crisp fresh white for all the windows and trim and were very pleased with the end result.

We can't recommend Thames house painters enough. The attention to detail and the relentless prep work was second to none. We are over the moon with the results. Thank you Graham and team. Jo Anne Thames
